Thank you, Mary! Yes, It’s one of my favorites too, the tannish brown color of the church looks so lovely with the white snow. Jeff Dodgson has some lovely shots of Steventon.
Love this post featuring Chawton and the pictures of the church, especially those in the snow are beautiful. I think Steventon often gets sidelined on the Austen trail, so it’s good to see it being showcased in such a lovely post.
Thank you Kathryn! I will be writing a post on Chawton. As you mentioned there isn’t very much on Steventon. I think it’s because the rectory where Jane grew up was demolished in 1826 by her brother Edward Knight.
Thank you so much for the tour! The unfortunate Austenites like myself who are unable to visit the locations in real life have, at least, lovely photos to stimulate our imaginations with.
Thank you Katherine! So interesting and beautiful. It’s been like strolling around JA’s neighbourhood. How I’d love to be able to do it sooner or later! This deserves a “bravo!” and a …retweet!
Very interesting and great pics. I love the pictures of the church in the snow.
Thank you, Mary!

I will soon be taking this tour IN REAL LIFE as I’m off to a semester in London
I can’t wait.
How exciting, Rosemary!! What a great opportunity! I hope that you’ll share some your experience and some snapshots too.
