Thanks for posting this! Is lovely to see some of the places she used to go!
My pleasure, I’m glad you liked the post! The tour will continue next week too visiting the Parish of Ashe and Steventon.
This was so interesting- it always makes me happy to learn new things about Jane Austen!
I especially loved the Oakley, looks amazing!
Oakley Hall is indeed beautiful, it’s how I imagine Netherfield! I found an aerial image, which I’ve added to the post, and it shows the design of the grounds.
Being a person stuck over here on the other side of the pond, I always appreciate visual representations of Jane’s world. This is an especially informative set of photos and I appreciate the way you have matched it to Jane’s own words. Someday, I hope to make it to the UK to see all Jane’s haunts myself.
You have a delightful blog. I really enjoyed the link to Jane’s Pelisse from your Twitter feed!
I hope to one day travel to England for a visit as well. It would be amazing to see all these places.
Thank you Dody Jane! I’m glad you enjoyed the link and my blog, I really like yours too and your website!
Beautifully researched and visually stunning Katherine. Great job!
Thank you Laurel! It was fun finding the quotes from Austen’s letters. I have a tour of Steventon and Ashe on the way too.
Such beautiful photos! Thanks so much for sharing this.

My pleasure! Thank you for stopping by Corra.
Oh sigh. How it would have been to have lived there in says of yore … and with Miss Austen!!
Imagine being friends with Miss Jane! And think of the wonderful letters she’d write, it’s a shame people rarely write letters or even letter-like emails. But at least with the internet we can find people with similar interests.
Thank you for stopping by Rosemary!
